Blog Post #46 - Magazine Update

Currently I am focusing on the print media portion of my final project. While waiting on my filming date to arrive, I can work on developing the content portion of the magazine, concerning the writing, before finding photographs to incorporate as well. To do this designing, I am using the platform Canva to allow for easy tools that will help me along the process.

Thus far working on my magazine, I selected an asymmetrical layout with a pastel color scheme to match the jerseys and club colors for Elevate Volleyball Club. I began with the layout when beginning my design, putting it into Canva and rearranging things to help develop new ideas and things to include. This took a lot of trial and error to choose correct placements and ensure I added the proper inclusions as well as making sure it is aesthetically pleasing for my readers.

Now, I have a digital plan of exactly how the magazine will be organized. With that, I can begin writing in content, selecting photos, and making finalization edits. The content being written will solely depend on the photos, such writing means that the photos need to tell a story and include context that can aid in making this seem like a real, professional magazine article.
While filming, I can take still photographs directly meant for this magazine as well as the social media page. These stills will be effective in my organization of all of my minor tasks so that their completion will be achieved along with their effectiveness in reaching my audience. The goal of these minor tasks is to use media convergence to market and produce content. This essentially means I need to use this content in print and social media mediums to build a following and anticipation before the release of my documentary and use them along with the final product to increase interaction with the audience. By doing so, the project can create a lasting impact with meaning to as many individuals as possible.
