Blog Post #49 - Social Media Update #3

After so much going on with filming, it has been difficult to finally come up with some new social media ideas. But now that I am just about done, it can be my focus along with my other minor tasks. I now need to include Instagram posts that are focused on audience excitement. It is very important that I do this as we are vastly approaching the end/release date of my project!

This first post shows a countdown to the release date of the film. Posted on March 3rd, the post shows  5 days remaining until the day the documentary will be fully done and uploaded on my YouTube channel. It was vital to include this so the audiences can remember to mark their calendar and stay caught up with the content as the date gets closer and closer. The caption I included here was meant to be heartfelt and sweet, hoping to use the audiences emotional response to remind them of anticipation that began with this project.

This second post is a post showing the official conclusion of filming and the beginning of the editing phase. By doing so, I can create excitement in the audience, allowing them to continue interacting with the content of the film as it goes through the lengthy production processes. While editing, I will add small posts to my Instagram such as a Q&A and bloopers that aid in this as well. Keeping the audience entertained has always been one of my priorities while working on this film, the marketing and advertising processes cannot be any different to achieve the proper effect.

This third and final post for this update is very exciting. It displays a few clips of my documentary as an official trailer. Through the inclusion of this, my viewers can get a direct, visual image of exactly what they will see in my documentary, therefore raising anticipation as they enjoy what they see. I have also decided to pin this to my profile as it will encourage them to look at it, view it, and want to see more which persuades them to watch the excerpt when released. This was a short, quick edit, overlaying a dramatic instrumental score with the title of the documentary as well as the caption ending with "coming soon" and the production company shown at the end of the trailer. Including these seemingly small but necessary details allow the audience to dive deeper into the content and find entertainment and excitement in everything, all in all helping it seem more like a real, full documentary.
